Airport Information

Montréal-Trudeau Airport is located in Dorval, about 20 minutes away from downtown Montréal., Here are the best ways to get to the Palais des Congrès from the airport:

The 747 bus line service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, between the Montréal-Trudeau airport and downtown Montréal (corner of Berri and Sainte-Catherine - Berri-UQAM métro station).Travel time may vary between 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Fares can be purchased from the automated dispensers on the international arrivals level.

You can catch a taxi or a limousine near the central exit on the Arrivals level of Montréal-Trudeau Airport. Taxi rates are fixed at $40 to downtown, and meter to other destinations with a minimum charge of $17. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are often, although not always, accepted.

Currency

The Canadian Dollar is the official national currency of Montreal. All major credit cards are accepted.

Climate

The average temperature in October in Montreal is 9ºC (48ºF) varying between 4ºC (39ºF) and 14ºC (57ºF). Temperatures rarely dip below zero, but it is best to bring a warm jacket. There is also a likelihood of rain.

Dress Code

Participants are advised to wear business casual for all Congress functions and programs.

Letter of Invitation

Upon request, the Secretariat of the 11th World Stroke Congress will e-mail a personal invitation to participants.

This invitation is meant only to help visitors to raise travel funds or to obtain a visa, and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support. 

Official letters of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be sent on request. It must be understood that such letters do not represent a commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee or Congress to provide any financial as sistance. If you require an original letter, it is recommended that you send your request well in advance to account for administration time for processing the request and delivery by post. Requests can be made via e-mail to invitation@kenes.com  

Liability and Insurance

The Congress Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participant. 

Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.

Safety and Security

Please do not leave bags or suitcases unattended at any time, whether inside or outside the session halls. Hotels strongly recommend that you use their safety deposit boxes for your valuables.

As Organizers of the 11th World Stroke Congress taking place in Montreal, Canada from October 17-20 we entrusted TWT srl, Rome, to collect the applications from the Italian Pharmaceutical Companies and file them with the Italian Ministry of Health agency AIFA, in compliance with the instructions given by the Legislative Order 219 of the 24th April 2006 – art. 124.
